SERESERE

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 11, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the agreement between you and SERE: Evade & Survive ("we", "us") for using the SERE app. By installing or using SERE, you agree to them. Questions? support@playsere.com.

The short version. SERE is a fictional game for entertainment. It is not real survival or military training and not medical advice — never rely on it in a real emergency. It’s free and ad-supported. It isn’t affiliated with the U.S. Air Force or the Department of Defense.

1. Who can use SERE

SERE is intended for teens and adults. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you are under 18, use SERE with a parent or guardian’s permission.

2. The game

SERE is a choose-your-own-adventure survival game. Missions, outcomes and odds are generated by the game and involve chance. Scores, ranks and statistics are for fun and have no cash or real-world value. We may change, add or remove features and content at any time.

3. Not training or advice

SERE is inspired by publicly available survival, evasion, resistance and escape concepts. It simplifies and dramatises them. It is not official training, a substitute for professional instruction, or medical, safety or legal advice. Real survival situations are dangerous. Do not attempt to apply anything in the game to a real situation without proper qualified training. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services.

4. Places, maps and learned locations

When you search for a place, SERE retrieves information from third-party public sources (such as Open-Meteo and Wikipedia) and uses it to generate a fictional scenario. Generated terrain, climate, wildlife, hazards and events are approximations and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Scenarios are fictional and do not describe real events, people, governments or militaries. Don’t use SERE to plan real travel, expeditions or outdoor activities.

5. Advertising

SERE is free and supported by advertising delivered by Google AdMob. Ads may appear as banners, between missions, and as optional rewarded ads (for example, to retry your last decision once per mission). We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.

6. Acceptable use

7. Third-party services

SERE relies on third-party services, including Google AdMob, Open-Meteo, Wikipedia/Wikimedia, and the Apple App Store and Google Play. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we don’t control their availability or accuracy.

8. Intellectual property

SERE — the app, its design, name, logo, story content and code — belongs to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your own devices for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted. Names of third-party organisations, publicly available concepts and descriptions retrieved from public sources belong to their respective owners.

9. No affiliation

SERE is an independent game. It is not produced, approved, sponsored or endorsed by the United States Air Force, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. Any mention of such organisations or of publicly available training concepts is for context only.

10. Termination

You can stop using SERE at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access to the app or any feature if you break these Terms or if we need to for legal, security or operational reasons.

11. Disclaimers

SERE is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content is accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SERE and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or personal injury or loss arising from your use of the app — including from relying on any information in the game. Where liability can’t be excluded by law, it’s limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as SERE changes. We’ll update the "Last updated" date above and note material changes in the app or on this site. Continuing to use SERE after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be handled in a court with jurisdiction over SERE, except where local law gives you additional rights that can’t be waived.
